Meet our Founder & CEO

The tough streets of Chicago instilled in Officer Lamar Moore a unique perspective. Witnessing firsthand the struggles of at-risk families and disadvantaged communities, he saw not just problems, but untapped potential. This ignited a passion to empower these communities and bridge the gap between law enforcement and residents. Doit From The Heart, the non-profit he founded, embodies this vision.

Moore's experience isn't just a personal story; it's the cornerstone of Doit From The Heart's connection to the people it serves. His unique position as both a police officer and CEO fosters a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Springfield's most vulnerable. He sees poverty, lack of resources, and a need for guidance not just as statistics, but as human experiences with real solutions.

Fueled by his degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology and a commitment to evidence-based solutions, Moore leads Doit From The Heart's multi-faceted approach. The organization's initiatives are driven by a core vision: a thriving community where all youth and families have the resources, support, and opportunities to reach their full potential and become valued, law-abiding members of society.

Building Trust, Building Futures:

Moore recognizes the importance of trust and strong foundations. Doit From The Heart fosters respect for the law through community outreach programs and youth mentorship initiatives spearheaded by Officer Moore himself. These programs offer safe spaces for at-risk youth, fostering discipline, self-esteem, and a path away from violence. They also bridge the gap between youth and law enforcement, creating a sense of partnership and understanding.

Officer Moore's story is one of unwavering dedication and a deep love for his community. He's a living example of the power of bridging divides. Under his leadership, Doit From The Heart continues to rewrite the narrative of Springfield, ensuring all residents have the resources needed to become productive, empowered, and law-abiding members of society.
